or brown algae turns the water green and gives a slippery feel to
surfaces around the pool. It can also cause the water to become cloudy.
Black algae forms patches on pool sides, giving them a spotty look. |
For pools with algae growth,
add 32-58 fluid ounces (1 - 1 -1/2 quarts "ALGAE-BAN" per 10,000 gallons
of water. Run the filter overnight and the next morning vacuum and remove
the dead algae. Some pool owners feel that adding "ALGAE-BAN" weekly will
prevent algae growth. Although the necessity of this practive with proper
chlorination is questionable, the proper dosage is 16 fluid ounces (1 -
pint) "ALGAE BAN" per 10,000 gallons. |
